BITTER TRUTH ABOUT KOPALA
“KOPALA CHECK LIST”
- Our greetings:
We don’t usually greet like other towns do.
- when you hear “Laka or Alola ?” just respond likewise.
- don’t tell us about your Nkongole or family challenges.
- About Breakup:
When you come here, fall in love with any of our brothers or sisters and then you break up please don’t waste your time to block his/her line. We never call back when we’re done but if you see us calling, Ninshi it was a misunderstanding not break up. - Public association:
- When you’re in public place, try to avoid English language even where it’s necessary. we call those speaking English as “abamachiki”.
- Notice to Ladies:
- in an event they call you “bana Joe” please don’t be offended. It has nothing to do with your appearance . That’s how we ask for your name.
- Notice to Gents:
- Even if we know your name, sometimes you’ll hear us call you “We tata” or Wechipondo, just get used to it please.
- Love issues:
- We don’t fight for ladies here. If you find your lady with another man, don’t take it personal please “Ni bululu wakwe.” They’re just having a family discussion she’ll certainly come back when they’re done. “Akalumbafye.”
And finally we call our loved wives or girlfriends MWAICHE!
WELCOME TO KOPALA NATION.
