About Two years ago, the Zambian Music Industry and the general public were amazed with the news of the introduction of two major Record Labels and Music Promotion companies namely Nexus Entertainment And Kalandanya Music Promotions that promised to grow the music industry and the Zambian Music to another Level.
After the signing of artist was done, people had opinions and many categorized the two Record Labels according to the kind of artists signed.
Many picked Nexus Entertainment as a more serious side and related Kalandanya to what they called a “Political Choir” as the year to follow was Election year in Zambia.
Well two years down the line, the one which seemed to be stable has crumbled and the one they thought will fall after the Mighty PF Lost the Elections to UPND is still intertact.
As it stands, many artist that were signed to Nexus Music Entertainment Ltd are reportedly to have left the record label including the CEO KB and Director Of Music Production T Sean. One would ask, who has remained at Nexus apart from Yo Maps who jumped Kalandanya To join them..
Meanwhile, the So called PF Political Choir is still intact, yes a few if not less than 5 have left but the big names are still signed..
We recently saw a successful Macky 2 “Olijaba” Album Launch which was sponsored by his label KMP.
Now the question everyone is asking, What has gone wrong at Nexus Music Entertainment Ltd that artist and Management don’t want to share with the Public?
Well What ever it is, we hope it can be resolve for the sake of Zambian Music.
