On our Upcoming Artist Focus, we Focus on Blake Zambia who has been trending this whole week on social media in connection with Yo Maps’s Latest Song “Aweah”
So Who Is Blake Zambia? Lucky Phiri, known professionally as Blake , is a Zambian singer and songwriter.
Blake rose to fame in 2017 for his great musical talent which attracted a lot of renowned African artists like; Tiwa Savage, Reekado Banks, Maleek Berry, Yemi Alade, Maleek Berry, Roberto Zambia , Orezi e.t.c to support his music, which also led to his signing at “emPawa Africa” in 2018 when label CEO Nigerian international Artist “Mr Eazi” noticed and liked him on Twitter.
Making him the first Zambian and second African Artist to be signed to the label, he later dropped his first single on the label called “Kawilo” which did very well and gained him a big audience and in June 2021 he dropped an Album called “Love and Understand” which was bought on auction sale at K30,000 making it the most expensive auction sold album in the history of Zambian music.
He also a number of artist including F Jay, T Sean and Kekero just to mention a few
The talented artist is now trending on social media after news emerged that he is the one who wrote Yo Mpas’s latest hit single Aweah but he was no recognized for it.
Yo Maps responded and denied the claims which led to Blake sharing the conversations to prove they had an agreement
Upto now, we still don’t know what the truth is as both artist have their own side of the story and fans chose to believe who they side with.
Nonetheless, we hope they can both sort out the issue and make peace with each other, probably even work on a song together
