The number of people arrested in connection with the suspected ritual killings in Lusaka has reached 11.
Meanwhile, police have also arrested 2-hundred and 11 people, in connection with riots that have been precipitated by the suspected ritual killings in Lusaka.
Minister of Home Affairs Davis Mwila, who has visited riot-affected areas in Lusaka, has confirmed this to ZNBC news.
The Minister has visited Zingalume, George and Chunga compounds, where the situation has returned to normal, but police are however keeping vigil.
Mr. Mwila has explained that police will do everything possible to arrest those responsible for the suspected ritual murders.
He has also disclosed that a total of 65 shops, owned by foreign nationals were yesterday looted by residents of Zingalume, George and Chunga compounds during the riots.
And Mr. Mwila has assured the nation that police will contain the situation in some residential compounds in Lusaka where riots have erupted.
He says more police officers have been deployed in the affected parts of Lusaka.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mwila says foreign nationals, who have sort refugee in police stations, in fear of being attacked, will remain there for their own safety.
He has explained that police will also work to protect foreign nationals, as well as Zambians.
On Monday, Mr Mwila explained that some criminal elements have taken advantage of the pain and grief the nation is feeling over the suspected ritual killings, to precipitate the riots.
