ZAMBIAN ARTISTS NEED TO STOP BLAMING BLOGGERS OR FANS FOR FAILING TO HIT THE GLOBAL MARKET

Zambian artists and musicians should refrain from blaming bloggers for their failure to gain international recognition. It’s important to acknowledge that bloggers have played a significant role in making many artists famous within their own country. For instance, Chile once complained about bloggers not promoting his work, but he should remember that these bloggers were instrumental in his initial success.

Similarly, Tio has gained attention with just one trending song and is already critical of bloggers, offering advice on their job. However, becoming an international artist begins with the artist’s own efforts. Simply releasing a song and expecting bloggers to take you international is not a realistic approach. Nigerian artists, for example, invest substantial sums in their projects, pay bloggers, comedians, radio stations, and other platforms to gain global recognition.

The reality is that many Zambian artists primarily aim to be known in Zambia and not on a global level. They often use their earnings to buy cars and flaunt their success locally. To truly go international, artists must invest in their music and promotion, rather than solely relying on bloggers.
